Getting into a top B-school is no mean feat. It is a journey that needs mastery at every step – applications as well as the interview. While the interview is important, the applications are key being the first round of elimination. For the 2017 intake, we achieved 94% success, i.e. 94% of our clients who submitted their ISB application got an interview call. Reflecting on this, we thought of sharing some mantras for a successful application,
- The art of Telling YOUR Story…: With an average ISB applicant having close to 5 years of work experience, everyone has a story to tell. Coming from diverse backgrounds including media, medicine, defence and social service, the stories become even more interesting. However, the challenge lies in communicating your story effectively, especially if you come from a traditional background such as engineering, CA, commerce etc. It becomes more challenging for those who get into traditional corporate roles such as the IT sector which employs thousands of people every year. Given these challenges, we ensure that we do not only a GOOD job but a GREAT job with your application, bringing out finer aspects of your personality which differentiate you from others
- …Not only the way you would like to tell…: Over the years, we have worked with re-applicants and we did that this year too. While re-applicants improve their profiles in a year, their work experience, academic performance and overall personality do not undergo a massive transformation in one year. The real reason a re-applicant gets selected is the way his story is told to the admissions committee
- …But also the way the admissions committee likes it: With an all ISB alumni team, we understand what the admissions committee is looking for. Highlighting your strengths is a must given the thousands of applications competing against you for a seat into ISB. Hence, we focus on the right set of differentiators and package them the way the admissions committee would like to see them.
Overall, we help you bring out the best for the most important decision of your career, getting into your dream school, the Indian School of Business!
